QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

The Peninsula Istanbul will offer spectacular views of the Bosphorus Strait, the meeting point of East and West. Located in the historic Karaköy district, the hotel will feature 177 opulent guestrooms and a glamourous rooftop, forming part of the Salıpazarı Port re-development, which also features a cruise terminal, public squares, restaurants, and museums. A great opportunity to work in an exciting Signature Restaurant, The Peninsula Istanbul is looking for its Pastry Chef de Partie to ensure the highest standards of customer service together with Peninsula Service Principles.

Key accountabilities

  • Be completely aware of The Peninsula Hotel core values and principles.
  • Be completely familiar with all The Peninsula Hotel / F&B policies and procedures. 
  • To follow outlet specific service standards.
  • To take ownership over the Demi and Commis chefs during the absence of the sous chef. 
  • Monitor and ensure smooth operations of the sections appointed (restaurant / banquet / beverage – as applicable) 
  • Have complete understanding of all food and beverage items, including ingredients, methods of preparation and proper service.
  • Ensure mise-en-place is completed prior to service.
  • Ensure personal grooming according to the hotel standards.
  • Check schedule and ensures punctuality at work.
  • Controlling the cleanliness and tidiness of stations before, during and after operation.
  • Always controlling the cleanliness of the kitchen areas.
  • Assist in any other tasks as specified by his / her supervisor.
     

 General requirements

  • General knowledge of food technique.
  • Familiar with kitchen equipment.
  • Good hands-on approach.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Food & Beverage outlet with similar standards and expectations (Hotel based or Standalone).
  • Service etiquette and 5-star service standard.
  • Degree or Diploma in hotel management. 
  • High level understanding of culinary knowledge.
